About the Forum
The Faculty of Urban and Regional Development invites experts, researchers, analysts and anyone interested in urban and regional development issues to the A.A. Vysokovsky Forum. The Forum will be held on May 16-17, 2024 at the HSE University site in Moscow.
The Forum is a large-scale scientific and expert event where we will discuss together the results of current research, the achievements of leading scientists and international experts in the field of urbanism, transport, economics, sociology, and law, outline promising ways to solve key industry problems and develop our scientific direction.
The Forum is the successor to the A.A. Vysokovsky Scientific and Practical Conference.
Evgeny Mikhaylenko, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development:
I invite you to join the discussion about the city and life in it. We are once again bringing together leading experts and practitioners of the urban planning and transport industries, sociologists, architects and developers, lawyers, and representatives of administrations to discuss topical issues and trends in urbanism.
This year we will present the results of the faculty's research projects and talk about developments in the field of master planning. We will discuss issues of Arctic urbanism, talk about transport and the «Smart City», and, of course, about the training of future urban planners.
The forum is designed to bring together the best urban planning practices and facilitate the exchange of experience: tell your colleagues about your developments, complex cases and pressing issues. I am sure that together we will find the best solutions and answers to modern challenges. We are waiting for you!
Mikhail Y. Blinkin, Academic Supervisor of the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development:
Remembering my friend Sasha Vysokovsky, I always quote Pushkin's lines: «he took Paris, he founded a lyceum». Alexander Arkadyevich Vysokovsky, in a sense, really «took Paris» and «founded the lyceum»: by creating the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism, which today bears his name, he bridged the 80-year gap between Russian and world practice of training specialists in the field of Urban Planning.
The forum, which is held by our faculty, is an excellent occasion and an excellent platform for discussing topical issues of urban and regional planning from the standpoint of deep immersion in real practice with honest and rigid academic detachment.
